1:48 Buccaneer
Dimitris Siolos thinks pink with the recent Airfix release. Pages 28-35. Withdrawn from service, two-seated twin-engine attack aircraft designed for the Royal Navy in the 1950’s.
Junkers W34
Petri Ola works wonders with the Special Hobby 1:72 kit. Pages 40-51. The Ugly Ducklings performing boring routine tasks. The Junkers W 34 was a German-built, single-engine, passenger and transport aircraft. Developed in the 1920s, it was taken into service in 1926. The passenger version could take a pilot and five passengers.
The aircraft was developed from the Junkers W 33, noted for being a record-breaking aircraft. Further development led to the Junkers Ju 46, which was seaplane for naval use capable being catapulted.
Razorback
Oliver Peissel creates a colourful P-47 with Tamiya’s 1:48 kit. Pages 54-63. The P-47D “Razorback” Thunderbolt was a highly successful World War II fighter-bomber, known for its ruggedness and firepower, and nicknamed “Jug” for its distinctive shape. The Razorback designation refers to the early versions of the P-47D, characterized by the ridge behind the cockpit.
