The Panzer Tracts team spent hundreds of hours measuring the surviving Panther II chassis and the Schmalturm and over a thousand hours drawing at full-scale, to create as-built drawings, accurate to the same tolerances demanded of the original assembly firms. Extensive measurement of the Panther II chassis proves that its design is entirely different from the Panther Ausf.F chassis. ‘Flat-plane’ drawings of many components assist modellers in making accurate parts that would be hard to replicate if only drawn at the angle in which they are mounted.
