De Havilland’s Hornet and the naval Sea Hornet were widely acclaimed as having been wonderful aircraft to fly while perhaps being the best looking of all piston engine fighters. Thanks to the close of World War 2 however and the advance of jet fighters their service career was not quite spectacular
